Betty Biggs is a native Texan but cultural kinship forms a foundation for the sensitive artworks she creates. While experimenting in several mediums, she developed a watercolor style that is a ballet of light and color. She uses this style to depict, with painstaking accuracy, West African life-styles that reflect the warmth and dignity which moves us to seek the nobility existing within ourselves. Biggs's artworks are distributed nationwide and have been featured on television programs such as Amen, Days of Our Lives and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Her art is included in the private collections of celebrities Cicely Tyson, Vocalist Nancy Wilson and television producer Winifred Hervey. Biennial visits to West Africa help to keep her revitalized and her images fresh, vibrant and current.
"The people of West Africa inspire me to capture the nobility, innocence, ability and strength within us. Only you the art lover will enable me to know if I have succeeded" .......Betty Biggs
